The internet is noisy. There are so many websites, blog posts, tweets, and Instagrams that clutter our cyberspace. But sometimes there is beauty to be found in the bowels of this fake bright social media world. Posting videos on social media helps us connect with one another in a way that's vivid and powerful. It helps blot out some of our isolation through laughter or shock or awe or beautiful narratives about politics. People like to share videos of puppies, babies, and dogs doing tricks. The video is of him and his wife, actress Anu Emmanuel, doing what they claimed to be their first dance together. It was uploaded on April 11th and claimed that it wasn't a film song but the couple's wedding dance. And we can see by the expressions on their faces and the energy in their feet that they actually mean it – it's not a film song – though we'd like to see them do a film song together. Every bride and groom put so much thought and effort into their wedding day – what dress to wear, what song to choose, what kind of shoes will go with those outfits best…it's a major production that involves lots of people putting in time and thought. And though a wedding is a beautiful, joyous day full of love and hope, it can also be a little stressful. The entire event is filmed by professional cameras (which means that they're not shy about coming up behind you and putting the camera in your face when you don't want them to) and then there's the video that you're making for your family overseas to see with the help of some poor sap who won't be able to sleep until he gets his own video camera (video cams were still exotic when I got married) Keeping it real is what helps make an event like this fun. And when people are in love, they don't always know how to act with each other in public. But if you think back to your own wedding day, you'll probably remember some small thing that you could have done differently. "Of course, people are different!
